1. Lock down your ground truth
AI engines triangulate facts across Wikipedia, Wikidata, Crunchbase, LinkedIn, and your own site. If those disagree, the model picks the loudest source — rarely you.
Audit each surface for a single canonical statement of what you do, where you operate, and who you serve. Update Wikidata first; it propagates faster than anything else.
2. Ship Organization + Product schema
JSON-LD remains the cheapest GEO win. Organization, Product, FAQPage, and Article schema give the engines structured anchors to cite from.
Validate with Schema.org's tool, not Google's — generative engines parse more permissively than classic search.
3. Concentrate review velocity on two sources
Spreading reviews across ten platforms dilutes signal. Pick the two the engines actually parse in your category (often G2 and Trustpilot for SaaS) and concentrate effort there.
4. Publish dated, sourced content quarterly
Generative engines weight recency heavily. A single timestamped 'State of X 2026' post outperforms ten evergreen articles in citation frequency.
